Midrange Performance Group®, Inc. (MPG) is a recognized industry expert in storage management, capacity planning and performance measurement for the System i platform. Dedicated to helping their customers get the most from their IT investment, MPG has assisted a wide variety of businesses and organizations to manage the cost and improve the performance of their hardware and software systems.

HISTORY

William (Randy) Watson and Joseph Camilli formed MPG in 1990 as an System i software development and system performance consulting group. As President, Randy Watson brought to MPG extensive sales, marketing and technical experience with such industry leaders as Storage Technology Corporation and EDS as well as his own consulting practice. Joe Camilli, with an advanced degree in Mathematics from Florida State, contributed extensive knowledge of the System i platform and experience with performance/capacity planning. MPG's first development effort for System i arena was PM/400 which today is offered as the performance management service from IBM. MPG then developed OptStor - a suite of products designed to manage System i storage with the use of IBM's 3995 Optical Library. The culmination of MPG's performance management development is Performance Navigator which is used for performance management, problem determination and capacity planning.

AFFILIATIONS

MPG is an IBM Advanced Business Partner as well as a Lotus Business partner. In addition, MPG is a remarketer of IBM and Lotus software and IBM hardware through their affiliation as a Solution Provider with SupportNet.

MARKETING

MPG has established channel relationships with many other firms in the industry and enjoys distribution of products across the US, Australia, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, the UK, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Poland and Austria. MPG continues to engage in new partnerships with other remarketers for OptStor and Performance Navigator sales and service.
